2010 Winter Seminar programme
Members of the Friends and guests are invited to attend the 2010 Winter Seminar on the subject of "trees in the Botanic Garden". This is an important and topical subject, taking into consideration the ageing of the trees in the Garden. On what basis should they be replaced? What should be the principles underpinning the replacement policy? Replacement or renovation?
The Seminar will examine how we came to have the main tree types in the Garden, current management issues relating to trees and how the Christchurch Botanic Garden is approaching the same challenges. There will an open session for discussion of issues raised.
